Good luck to the Mighty Cougar Basketball team as they continue their run in the playoffs. The next game is scheduled for Friday, February 22 at McAllen Memorial. Tip off is 7:30 p.m.

Vanessa Salazar has been selected to represent Edinburg North High School at the Texas Girls Coaches Association All-Star Game. She will play on "All Star Team 4A-5A Blue", which represents schools south of I-35. Only 12 athletes are chosen for this honor. She will be the first volleyball player to represent Edinburg North High School volleyball in this prestigious game.

The following seniors have been named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association Academic All-State Team: Allison Brandt, Casanda Garcia, Kory Lipscomb, Clarissa Maldonado, Vanessa Salazar, and Delanie Thomson.
Seniors Vanessa Salazar and Allison Brandt have been selected to represent Edinburg North High School at the 12th Annual RGV Volleyball Showcase. They will play for the West All-Stars on December 9, 2012 at P.S.J.A.-Memorial High School at 2:00 p.m.

Congratulations to Vanessa Salazar for being named the MaxPreps Texas Volleyball Player of the Week for Sept. 24. Vanessa was also presented by State Farm Rep Raul Resendez as the HSSM Academic Player of the Week. This recognition comes with a $250 scholarship. Congratulations to Vanessa and Lady Cougars for such accomplishments!
ENHS Fine Arts Dept. presents The Wizard of Oz. All tickets $7 suggested donation. Performances will be held at the Patrick McNallen Performing Arts Center at ENHS.

Congratulations to our Music department as we continue to have students earn All Region and All State Honors. This weekend Lydia Flores and Adriana Arango earned All State Choir Honors for the second straight year! Way to go girls!
ENHS also had 4 students place at the area band auditions. The TMEA Region 15 band clinic concert is Friday evening at the La Joya Fine Arts Center. In addition, Mariachi Oro de ENHS will begin to defend its State Championship title during the MASBA Regional Mariachi contest held at EHS this weekend. Good luck to all of our musicians and directors!
Seven Mariachi Oro de ENHS students will be representing Edinburg North High School as well as ECISD at the TMEA All-Region Mariachi Concert on February 23, 2013.

The Edinburg North Orchestra had 10 students (1 alternate) secure spots in the All Region Orchestra. This is the most students from one school. Congratulations to the students and teachers that prepared for this contest!
The Edinburg North HS Mighty Cougar Band received their 23rd Consecutive Division I Superior Rating at the Annual Pigskin Jubilee held at McAllen Veteran's Memorial Stadium. The band has received a Division I rating every year the school has been open. The band advances to the Area Contest in Laredo next Saturday.
The District and Region choir auditions took place Saturday at Juarez Lincoln HS. We took 22 students and 18 will be performing in the District choir concert. Additionally 5 advanced to the Regional Choir Auditions: Lydia Flores, Sarah Pedraza, Monica Rivas, Adriana Arango, and Miguel Martinez. Congratulations to our Choir students and their directors: Linda Hernandez and Claudio Esquivel.
