Welcome to the Cougar Military Science Department Website. I am Captain Vicente Ochoa, Senior Army Instructor for the Mighty Cougar Battalion. Our progarm has been in existence since 1991 when Edinburg North HIgh School opened in 1991 before that the Mighty Cougar Battalion, was part fo the Edinburg High School Bobcat Battalion and moved to Edinburg North when the school was opened. Our JROTC Cougar Battalion offers the cadet a variety of challenges such as, Cadet Challenge, Drill Team competitons, Community Service Activities throught the Edinburg Community, Land Navigation Training and First Aid training just to name a few. We columinate our program with a one week summer camp at The United States Marine Military Academy in Harlingen Texas where our cadets place all their skills to the challenge.
