ENHS had 9 students participate at the TMEA Pre-Area Auditions this past Saturday. We have 4 students who placed in the top five chairs and this has qualified them to move on to the Area round in January giving them the chance to place in the 2015-2016 Texas All-State Choir. We also had 2 students place as first alternates. Saturday Academies will not take place Nov. 21 or Nov. 28. The final Saturday for the Fall Semester will take place on Dec. 5th.

Tutors are available in the library before and after school as well as during the lunch periods to assist students with homework. Students should bring notes or textbook along with assignment.
Attendance matters! Please make sure your son or daughter is in school every day. Our attendance percentages went up slightly this week; however, we did not meet our goal. Let's ensure that all students are in class every day.
Progress reports will be run on Friday, Oct. 23. You can access through Skyward and paper copies will be sent home the following week.
The next TSI testing date is Nov. 14. Be sure to sign up at the Financial Aid Office.
Seniors who still have NOT tested for SAT or ACT can stop by the Financial Aid Office to register for the November or December test dates as soon as possible.
Saturday Academies are taking place in the 300 hallway. All December retesters should be coming to Saturday Academies. The target audience is about 500 students. The turn out this week dipped under 100 students. Breakfast and transportation will be provided.

Congratulations to the Lady Cougars on their wins against Edinburg High and Weslaco during the week of Oct. 12-17. Their next game is Saturday, Oct. 24 at Pharr Memorial.
The Mighty Cougar football team has an open week followed by a trip to PSJA to play Pharr Memorial. Go Cougars!
Wow! What a fantastic way to begin the UIL season! This weekend, ENHS competed in the Robert Vela High School Math/Science Invitational. Overall, our students worked together to capture the 1st place sweepstakes trophy. Each of our four competing teams also received first place! (Number Sense, Math, Science, and Calculator) Individual stand-outs included:

Congratulations to the Mighty Cougar Band for earning Division I ratings at Pigskin this weekend! The makes 25 years of consecutive Division I ratings! Way to go students, directors, staff, and parents!
Congratulations to the ENHS Choir members who qualified for the district choir. Nine students also qualified for the Regional Choir. Vanessa Guzman and Matthew Salinas are currently ranked 1st in their sections for the Regional Choir. Great job students and directors!
